Trombone Hero

Yesterday was an important day for Marriner. He auditioned for and was accepted to the Mormon Orchestra of Washington DC (http://www.mormonorchestradc.org/). He was even asked to be the trombone section chair. (Ok, they're really short on trombones right now.) We're excited! If you want to hear them in a performance with Jenny Oaks Baker (Elder Oaks's very accomplished daughter) last year, you can view a YouTube of them here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qpGz_nfCDM A friend of ours from Indiana (who now lives in Maryland) auditioned at the same time for a violin spot and was accepted as well. We're thrilled for him, since the violin spots are more competitive and he's only 15. So if anyone's in the area, their next concert is on April 11th at the DC temple visitor's center :)
